We’re not runners, but when the St Vincent’s Hospital Foundation promised us dogs and pyjamas, we were ready to start training!

Passionate about making a difference, we were super excited to come on board and help St Vincent’s with their annual fun run. Even better, this year the hospital celebrated 125 years of service and asked participants to run in their PJ’s to represent the 57,000 inpatients treated by the hospital on average per year.

The annual fundraiser sees the community support the vital work of the hospital with all funds raised going towards a number of departments as well as research, training and education programs. In order to raise awareness and encourage people to participate, we developed a tailored media relations campaign.

Reasons to celebrate:

  • A total of 27 media hits were achieved, reached over 9 million Australians.
  • Channel 10 Eyewitness News kick-started campaign activity with an exclusive TV news package.
  • Channel 7 and Channel 9 News joined us on run day, gathering footage as part of their Sunday evening feel good news packages.
  • A number of hospital case studies were profiled as part of local and national media coverage from New Idea to WIN TV Gippsland.
  • What’s on calendar listings were secured in The Urban List Melbourne, CHILD Mag, and on Triple R and 3AW Afternoons with Denis Walter.
  • We collaborated with dog adventurer’s Tom + Captain who supported the event, resulting in a Herald Sun picture opportunity featuring some very cute pups in PJs.
  • We also leveraged our relationship with Melbourne University to secure coverage on their student and teachers portal, driving attendance on the day.
