We like to think of ourselves as a super social bunch. We also like connecting our clients with clients, or clients with friends to help bring on a collaboration or two. A recent event we ran in partnership with Code Like a Girl and littleBits, was a testimony to the power of just that; proving that when brands share their passions and band together, awesome things can happen.

So this is how it all went down…

It took place at an inspiring venue we helped recently launch, LCI Melbourne. We then hung out with 50 super enthusiastic mini-inventors during the school holidays. We tinkered with tech. And next, came the mayhem – standard when you get 50 kids aged 8 to 12 in the one room! Our mini-inventors broke off into smaller groups to invent and prototype using littleBits kits. Guided by mentors, including Channel 10’s The Project co-host Gorgi Coghlan, the girls created their very own inventions such as a room-protector alarm and a robotic arm.

The workshop was driven by littleBits and Code Like a Girl’s shared passion to encourage the next generation of girls to become tomorrow’s changemakers and leaders in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) fields.

Here the girls played team building games, were introduced to the world of tech, and even heard a special message from littleBits founder Ayah Bdeir, straight from New York.

It wasn’t just us obsessing about the event either – our mini-inventors also got their time in the spotlight to share their inventions with Georgia Love and the Channel Ten crew. Check it out here.

Word on the street from the parents and girls who attended was super positive as well… positive enough to potentially sway us to run a similar event next year.

We’re looking forward to continuing to power-on with amazing collaborations and partnerships, because good things come in pairs!
