If you’ve managed to go more than a day without hearing Mariah Carey belt All I Want for Christmas is You, than you’re lucky. As always, Christmas is full blown this year. It started in November, possibly even October, when we spotted some tinsel and a Santa portrait at the local shopping centre. We knew then it wouldn’t be long until the actual day arrived; these things sneak up on you like Santa down the chimney. Yet despite all the signs slowly emerging over the past few months, we’ve left everything to the last minute. With a Christmas shopping list as long as the 2016 Presidential Election campaign, we’re quietly freaking out.
In a frantic attempt to start crossing things of our list, we’ve scouted some Christmas gift ideas that you can buy from the comfort of your office chair. Their quick, their easy and they’re guaranteed to make someone smile.
Yoga 213 Class Pass
It doesn’t matter if you’re an avid yogi or not, people are flocking to bend, stretch and breath at one of Yoga 213’s hip-hop yoga classes. The studio’s interior is based on LA’s Venice Beach and is decked with enough pot plants and pineapples to make you feel as if you’ve set sail to a tropical land. They offer a range of class passes, making it the perfect gift for the expert or wannabe yogi.
Rooftop Cinema Tickets
Sit back, relax and click the purchase button; tickets to the Rooftop Cinema are the perfect Christmas gift idea (plus there’s always the chance you’ll be someone’s plus one). Set on the rooftop of Curtin House in Melbourne’s CBD, the city skyline makes for a spectacular backdrop for a movie session. This year’s summer screenings include everything from the classics and arthouse flicks right through to recently release films.
Lucy Liu Dinner Voucher
Dinner’s on you with a Lucy Liu gift voucher. Why travel all the way to Asia when you can treat someone to the classic tastes in an electric interior right here in Melbourne. The menu is designed to be shared and includes a range of small bites, dumplings and buns right through to larger dishes such as slow roast lamb shoulder with green chili dhal, roti and cucumber relish. When you give the dinner voucher, make sure to include a note tipping them to order the Barramundi and Scampi Dumplings (trust us, even if they don’t like fish, they’ve gotta try these bad boys).
